Getting around¶
Skypiea's islands lie two to four thousand blocks apart, and most of the way between two of them is the void. Three ways to cross it: the waver on the sea, the Milky Roads on foot, and the flying mounts.
The waver¶
Skypiea's cloud-sea scooter: a small wooden hull with a teal bow, a column with handlebars, and a Breath Dial for an engine.
- One rider, standing at the handlebars. Mobs are never scooped up, as a boat does.
- Faster than a boat: about 13 blocks a second, against 8 for a boat on the same sea.
- It glides on cloud: on the islands' cloud skin and on the Milky Roads it slides as on the sea, and it climbs steps of one block.
- A hard landing does not break it. Broken, it drops itself.
Getting one
| Craft it | an Iron Ingot over a Breath Dial between two Planks, over three Planks |
| Buy it | from the Waver Dealer, behind the counter of the seafront's dial workshop: 3 to 4 million extol. He also sells the base mod's dials. |
The Breath Dial is the base mod's: it washes up on Angel Beach, and the dial merchants sell it.
The Milky Roads¶
Every island is linked to its nearest neighbour by a road of milky cloud, five blocks wide, from centre to centre.
- On the sea, the road rides the swell, flush with the surface.
- Over the void, it is a bridge at the sea's level.
- Reaching an island, it climbs onto it by a ramp.
- It glows faintly at night.
A road stops short of what stands in its way — an island's cliffs, Heaven's Gate, a pier — and never crosses Weatheria. Roads appear in the parts of Skypiea explored with this version or later.
Milky Cloud and the Milky Curb along its edges are blocks: dig them with a shovel.
